Push-ups is a great exercise to build your strength most especially in the chest as well as the triceps. According to Fitness experts, the best way to do this is to put your feet on a chair, so that your head is lower than your feet and then place your hands on any object that raises them up by about four to five inches. This will allow you to get a deeper stretch during the downward phase of the movement.
Wide grip chins is said to be one of the best bodyweight strength exercises for building Upper Body strength and size. It effectively targets your lats, as well as your deltoids, biceps, brachioradialis and forearm flexors. Make sure to keep your palms facing forward whilst taking a wider than shoulder width grip on any horizontal bar and pull up till your chin touches the bar, when doing this exercise. Then, ease yourself back down making sure not to drop and concentrate on pulling with your lats. Take note that this is very important for mind muscle connection. Additionally, moving your grip in will hit the lower lats more as well.
One legged calf raises can also be undertaken in order to increase strength. All you have to do is to put alternate feet on a block of wood that is about two inches thick for a deeper stretch. After that, point your toes either in or out in order to hit the inner or outer calf muscle. Make sure to wrap your unused foot around the back of the leg that you are exercising and lean against a wall for balance.
Being able to learn bodyweight strength exercises is just one small part of the puzzle when working out with just your bodyweight. Always remember that in order to advance, there are many techniques that you need to learn.
